I have practised as a solicitor in South Wales for over 20 years, including over 10 years at this firm.
I have a BA from Oxford University, I subsequently passed the Common Professional Examination in Law with Merit and then passed the Solicitors’ Final Examination at the first sitting.
My chosen area of specialisation since joining this firm is wills, trusts, estates and inheritance tax planning. In connection with this, I studied to join the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (“STEP”) (an organisation that includes solicitors, accountants, financial advisers, tax advisers and others whose work involves trusts or estates), and qualified as a full member in 2009. I regularly attend STEP meetings and training events, to ensure that I keep my knowledge fully up to date, and am currently the Treasurer of the Wales Chapter of STEP.
I also help people plan for the possibility that they might one day lose the capacity to manage their own financial affairs, as well as with what to do if this has already happened to a loved one.
Prior to joining the firm I gained experience in working in a number of different areas of law, and my wide legal knowledge can be an advantage if your matter branches out into other fields.
I enjoy learning languages and, having spent time living in mainland China, speak conversational Mandarin. Hefyd, dw i’n dysgu Cymraeg (I am also learning Welsh).
I qualified as a solicitor in 2012. I attained a degree in Law LLB (Hons) before completing the Legal Practice Course in 2009.
I have been working in our property team since I qualified and deal with all aspects of residential conveyancing including transfers of equity, purchases, sales and re-mortgages I am also able to offer advice in relation to Wills & Probate and Lasting Powers of Attorney.
