Housing

If you rent a house or flat, from the Local Authority or from a private landlord, we can deal with disputes about rent, the condition of the house or about possession.

You may be in arrears with your rent and your landlord may take action to evict you. We can negotiate with your landlord and attempt to ensure that you remain in your home. If the matter is proceeding through the courts, we can advise and represent you. In these cases, the earlier you seek advice the better.

Do not be intimidated by a rogue landlord. If you believe that your landlord is treating you unfairly, or is refusing to carry out urgent and necessary repairs, we can advise you on your rights.

Your local authority landlord may take action to evict you if concerns have been raised by your neighbours with regards to your behaviour. Again, the earlier you seek advice, the better.
